The Barley Mow in Marylebone is that rarest of things. A pub in the heart of one of the world’s busiest cities which still remains independently owned. One of the last ‘Free Houses’ in the centre of London, The Barley Mow is a real old-fashioned community pub, more akin to what you would normally find in a country village.
Built in 1791, and opening its doors to the public in 1793, the pub is the oldest in the area, and it’s not changed much over the centuries, keeping many of its original features including two private ‘drinking booths’ located directly at the bar. The pub is listed inside and out and would probably be just as recognisable today as it was to any passing Georgian.
Our community is at the heart of everything we do here. Be it be our Darts League, our World-famous Quiz, our Music Nights, or just having a pint and a natter with a friend, we pride ourselves on creating a warm and friendly environment for all our punters.
Whether you’re a local resident, work in the area, or just passing through, we’re the local ‘village’ pub in the heart of London!
Pie and a Pint for £16.50! Go on treat yourself!
